Elk Bone Ladle

I was walking around the auction room this morning looking over the relics in this Sunday’s sale, and this one caught my attention as something fairly unique.  It is an elk bone ladle recovered in New York. Most like circa 1600’s-1700’s (ish). I think bone relics have always been a little under-appreciated in the hobby – but its hard not to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this one. Have a great day all!
