Our Auctions

Premiere Auctions Group hosts monthly In-Person Gallery Auctions at our Ashland, Ohio facility where our customers can bid in-person, online, or request to bid live over the phone on auction day or leave an absentee bid. Additionally, we list several online-only auctions that allow customers to bid at their convenience through the Proxibid auction site.

Types of Auctions

  • In-Person Auctions are sales in which we have a live audience at our gallery with seating available for over 100 attendees in addition to all of our online customers. During these sales, we welcome absentee and phone bidding for those that cannot attend in person. Customers can preview all of the lots up for auction through our online Proxibid catalog. Bidders can register with Proxibid to place pre-bids prior to the auction going “live” on auction day. To bid during the sale simply log into the Proxibid account you created and place “live” bids online as each lot comes up for sale.

Generally we sell around 85 lots per hour and usually offer between 450-500 lots.

  • Virtual Auctions are online only. In this type of sale, we upload a catalog of approximately 450 lots along with an average of 2,000 photos to Proxibid (an online auction platform). All bids are then placed directly through the Proxibid site online. Virtual auctions are listed a couple of weeks in advance of the sale and are open for pre-bidding as soon as they are posted. The day of the sale, bidders can log into Proxibid and bid live against each other. This is the most popular format we use for the sale of artifacts from the Western U.S. as well as jewelry and general non-artifact related collectibles. In these sales, we generally sell around 95 lots per hour.

  • We use this auction format for numismatic/coin auctions. It is very similar to bidding on eBay as this is the only type of auction we have that has a clock that counts down rather than an auctioneer or Proxibid operator accepting the bids as they are placed. Once the clock hits zero, the lot sells to the highest bidder. On these sales, we space the lots a minute apart, and generally sell no more than 350 lots per sale.
One nice thing about the Timed Auctions is that it has a feature in which any bid placed within the last two minutes will extend the clock’s end time for two additional minutes to allow for re-bids to be placed so that you cannot be “sniped” at the last minute.

Registering with Proxibid is fast and easy! You only have to register once to bid in all of the upcoming Premiere Auction Group events.
